Projects for Peace Awardee Turns Challenges into Opportunities for Sustainability in Zimbabwe

Live Access founder Quinton Mutsinze, along with his US Alumni counterparts Darlington Mafa, Witness Ukama, and Expert Choice agrochemicals Karen Katerere supported project for peace awardee Chelsea Masikati in organizing training sessions on food sustainability and agriculture business. This initiative aimed to address the pressing issue of food security and promote self-sufficiency in Zimbabwe. The training sessions were attended by 120 youths who greatly benefited from the knowledge and skills imparted. As a result of this project, a poultry chicken run project was established for an orphanage home in Chitungwiza, enabling them to produce their own food and become self-sufficient. Additionally, another chicken run project was initiated for the “Beacon for Hope,” a church ministry, further contributing to food sustainability efforts in the community. These projects not only provide a sustainable source of food but also serve as valuable learning opportunities for the youth involved, equipping them with essential skills for the future.
